Call happiness what you will, but it never stands alone. There is an underlying current that drives the happiness to the surface, even when it is only a temporary event.

Sustained happiness is a symptom of the the deep currents of your life.

A philosophy of life can bring happiness from the depths of your soul. Many people of faith have this happiness; often called joy. Others may call it foolishness to believe and want a relationship with God. But joy is real and only visible to the one who has it, until it surfaces and makes it's presence known.

Happiness purpose, because it keeps you moving forward instead of dwelling in the past. The past is a place you might want to visit, to get a better perspective of how far you've come, but (usually) you wouldn't want to live there.

Happiness is peace, because it provides a sense of well being that keeps the deep currents flowing in one direction. Streams of discord and trouble enter our currents, but they stay close to the surface when peace guides the deep currents. Eventually most of them branch off in other directions. I've been there.

In our busy world that has a schedule for almost everything, it is easy to lose sight of the really good things in our lives. Why not take some time to do inventory today and see what drives your currents? I hope they driven by things you value.
