All she knew was that strangers came into the house and took her sick buddy out of the house.

What dog owner hasn't at least once in their life experienced the sight of the Joy in their dogs eyes when they came home from a long trip? The leaping, licking, slobbering whether you had food in your hands or not.

Other species have just as much right to happiness and a peaceful life as the Human Species. Something that makes me sick to my stomach are these "Holier than thou" people who run around screaming about how godly they are, yet they don't mind slaughtering the beings that their "God" commanded them to "care for".

Countless Preachers and churchgoers never forget the quotes about eating animals in the bible, yet not one I know of can recall this one from Ecclesiastes:

"It is God's purpose to test them and see what they truly are. For man is a creature of chance and the beasts are creatures of chance and one mischance awaits them all; death comes to both alike. They all draw the same breath. Men have no advantage over beasts; for everything is emptiness. All go to the same place; all came from the dust and to the dust all return."
Ecclesiastes 3:18-20
The New English Bible, Oxford Study Edition

Where I live it seems that not a week goes by that it's not reported on the news about some cat, dog or horse being malnourished. I've heard stories of a child's cat being skinned and hung on the lamp pole across from his home for him to find the next morning. Of horses being beaten and cut with whips. Sponges shoved up the nostrils of racehorses so that they would purposely have difficulty breathing and running a race; just for the sake of someone else's horse having a better chance at a win. Animal abuse is a serious problem and often it is covered up by those who can afford to do so.

Let's face it; if a child is abused; we nearly snap with rage at the injustice. We don't hesitate to defend the child, but so many of us rarely rush to help an animal in danger. Many people seem to have no problem with judging and condemning those who do.

We pop nearly every pill the doctors can give us without thinking of the countless lives of the mice, monkeys, guinea pigs, cows, and others who were sacrificed so that we could have that pill. The only thing that concerns us is that our problem is solved by the pill. But, what about those lives who died for it's creation?

If that isn't enough reason to promote more animal rights; consider that the human animal is the most destructive of all species, the cockroach being second. Humans have destroyed more of the planet; more species; more of each others lives than anything else.

Let's face it; how many chimpanzees do you see dumping oil into lakes rivers? When was the last time you saw a Black Bear Rob a liquor store at gunpoint? We can't exactly blame cows for our lack of ozone layer now, can we? No, it's the human species that has destroyed it all and continues to do more destruction every minute that it exists; especially to other animal species, including it's own. Yes, mankind is the only animal that seems to relish destroying each other physically, mentally, emotionally, financially along with everything else and every other species.

No, I don't think Animal Rights has gone nearly far enough; except maybe for the human animal...we obviously have way too many rights!
