I Lie Awake

I lie awake in my torment
Entertaining dangerous thought
In many pieces my heart is rent
By my mind am I caught

With one simple, wrathful cut

But with only one word
My hands are both held still
To my flesh comes no sword
I am yet not over the hill

But thanks to just only one
To that one I do nod
