I Lie Awake
I lie awake in my torment
Entertaining dangerous thought
In many pieces my heart is rent
By my mind am I caught
The knife is thrust in each frame
Quickly, smoothly, easily into my gut
My wrists do I think to maim
With one simple, wrathful cut
But with only one word
My hands are both held still
To my flesh comes no sword
I am yet not over the hill
But thanks to just only one
To that one I do nod
