Good rainy-day activities for children

My daughter is five and an only child. Therefore when she is bored she turns to us for amusement. I'm not a big fan of playdoh, painting, dressing up or many children's activities. So I started thinking about what I like to do and my hobbies.
Scrap-booking.
Its cheap, its time consuming and its enjoyable for young children. Cutting, gluing, stickers, drawing, glitter and getting to look at photos of themselves and their family. It can be an ongoing project too. For example every day after dinner, rather than watch TV we get out our box of goodies and do two pages before bathtime.
My only suggestion is to print photos from the computer onto plain paper, your scrapbook will not turn out perfect so don't waste good photos, paper or stickers you want to keep. Some photos might get body parts cut off, Some stickers might be half off the page and some pages might get torn. But your child/ren will love it.
