As the oldest of four children entertaining siblings was fun. And now a new mother, my creative abilities are put to the test.
Depending on the type of rain...
Going outside to enjoy the rain is fun. It cools both the child(ren) and parents down. It is not that much different from taking a shower or playing in the sprinkler.
Baking/ cooking...
From the time the child (ren) are able to stand on a stool, they only want to help. Why not? It gives you the time to interact with you child (ren). They start to learn mathematics and ingredients. And in the end of this, there is a taste treat.
Art crafts
It doesn't take much. Water basic paint, old T-Shirt and paper. The child (rens) imagination can go wild. And the best part is when the child is explaining the painting to you.
If you have access to the internet...there are thousands of different types of activities there. And you most likely have the materials in your home already.
The top favourite thing that I love to do with toddlers and pre-school children is called goop.
All you need is:
1 box of cornstarch
2 cups of water
1 plastic container
*if desired* food colouring
To make the clean up easier for your self, place newspaper over top of the area that the child (ren) will be in and let them go. It is messy, fun and top most it is entertaining.
