MISERY IN MUNICH
MUNICH
(15A, general release)
*

Munich is the latest offering from Stephen Spielberg and is based on what happened in the immediate aftermath of the terrible tragedy that took place at the Munich Olympic Games in 1972. A Palestinian terror group known as Black September killed 2 Israeli athletes in their living quarters and took the remaining 9 as hostages. Astoundingly the games still went on in the background while the German establishment managed to completely botch the negotiations and the remaining hostages were all killed.

Munich can be a depressing; saddening picture which certainly doesn't hold back on its violent images. Avner is charged with leading a group of men on an international hunt for the leaders of Black September; a pursuit which would take them all around Europe. But on a personal level for Avner, it would take him on a journey to one of the hardest places of all: his soul!
Assisted by Mathieu Kassovitz as an explosives expert; Daniel Craig as a hard nosed South African assassin, and Irish actor Ciaran Hinds as the cleaner who tidies up any incriminating evidence, this story focuses more on the emotion and morals of the story.
He has to leave his wife and baby for months which soon turn into years as he pours himself into this mission for Israel. The hit list takes them from Italy where he finds his first hit more difficult than he expects. The team
