How to be a professional at home

Setting up to become an Work At Home Agent

Becoming an Independent Contractor.

An Independent Contractor is sometimes known as an IC, Consultant,or a Free Agent. This is a person who typically does not enjoy the permanent,non-changing atmosphere which is found in a brick mortar office, now there are times where outside circumstances may cause an individual to seek alternative working arrangements, whatever the reason, most people who become an Independent Contractor or Home Office Professional have already, or would need to quickly obtain an adventuresome entrepreneurial spirit.

Home Office Professionals must possess the ability to be problem solvers, responsible, efficient, savvy at time management and also persistent.
o How to Become an Independent Contractor:
o1) Research to find the right Virtual Company
o2) Apply to the Virtual Company of choice
o3) Set up Home Office

When starting an application process with a Virtual Company an applicant completes an on-line application, and then takes a behavioral screening test.(In most cases) If passed the individual will then be invited to complete an IVR, (telephony, interactive voice response, or IVR, is a phone technology that allows a computer to detect voice and touch tones using a normal phone call.)Interview. After-wards, the applicant would be invited to review training material and test where in other instances the individual may be asked to set up a phone interview with a recruiter

Therefore, the application process varies from company to company, the above is only an example, so to become an Independent Contractor, takes time and persistence, research and a good home office:

o Most of the companies require the applicant to have a dedicated area, quiet with no distractions, Cable/DSL connection to Internet,
o A 512 ram,
o Pentium III processor or better,(Celeron can be accepted also)
o Windows 2000 or XP,
o A basic phone line (The home phone can be used only if the caller ID and call waiting is inactivated during work hours)
o A headset (All agents will need the ability to be on-line and on the phone at the same time). Also an IC will need a flexible schedule.

So, now once that "perfect Company "has been found, the dream project obtained, and the home office set up, you can now call yourself an Entrepreneur, your own boss..! But the question remains now what?! One of the major differences between an independent contractor and being an employee
