I know it worked for me. My parents (back in the day 1970-80's) would give me $5.00 for every A, $3.00 for every B, $1 for every C. Grounded for lower. That was enough money for me. I did fairly well on my grades and test scores and I remember it being a positive force in those years. I would be rewarded for my hard work and it looks better on your school record. Actually that was when 45 records were only a dollar plus tax. I couldn't wait for the next report card. Today it reminds me of work in a sense. The more education and learning you do the better you will be paid.
So, I think it would be a good thing if school districts would provide cash rewards for high grades and test scores but I also think it should have guidelines and levels so every student would have a fair shot at cash. Sort of like subdivisions based on past performances, attitude, attendance, and not so much weighted on test scores only.
