They were born that way. Right? That's what most proponents of gays becoming priests will tell you, is that God made them that way and that we should embrace them as they are and not expect them to change. Well I will agree with you on the first sentence. They were born that way. It's called a sinful nature. The same way I was born with the nature to want to have premarital heterosexual sex, or to want to lie to get out of an uncomfortable situation, or to steal rather than work for a living.. and the list goes on. BUT meeting Jesus Christ and asking Him into my life made me a NEW CREATURE (2 Corinthians 5:17)"..old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new." A new creature who no longer has premarital sex, lies to get out of an uncomfortable situation, and defeats the inclination to steal rather than work for a living. For the person with homosexual tendencies, as a new creature, he or she would overcome that lustful desire, or "abomination," as Leviticus 18:22 calls it. So I'll turn the question back to the reader, if scripture clearly states that we are to become new creatures in Christ, and that God calls it an abomination to engage in homosexual activities, do you think Christian churches should allow gays to be ordained as priests?
