Chicken is a favorite of many people, and apples are a popular fruit, when you combine them both together in a salad, you really have a hit!

These two food groups work well together in a salad, while creating a low calorie, healthy side dish, or main entree.

Here are the ingredients for this simple, but delicious, chicken and apple recipe.

1 baked, or grilled, chicken breast that has either been cut up into small chunks, or shredded into strips.
1 -2 cups small red apple chunks
Shredded Romaine lettuce
1/4chopped celery
Dry roasted sunflower seeds (just a sprinkling)
A few diced, black olives
1/4 cup crumbled Feta cheese
Light or fat free red wine, vinaigrette dressing to taste, depending on your preference.
Salt and pepper to taste
Lemon juice

The next step is simply to add all these ingredients together and toss well.
Sprinkle a few drops of lemon juice over the top and lightly toss again.

Romaine lettuce is a good choice in this salad recipe, since it is a lettuce with a dark, green color and therefore contains more of the nutrients our body needs.

The end result is a delicious, healthy salad that can be enjoyed at anytime
