If you can teach Elementary Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Science, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Political science etc., you can become an online tutor at tutor.com. This site provides an excellent home based work opportunity.
You can become a tutor from the comfort of your home with flexible hours and competitive rates. This is an excellent but challenging position for any one wanting to become an online tutor. You can make anything from a part time to full time income.
You can help students to solve their problems and earn money in the process. One can teach students from grades 4-12. Peak times for tutoring are from September to May. You will have to choose your hours from 2 AM Eastern to 1 AM Eastern.
The only conditions for becoming an online tutor on tutor.com are that tutor should be from USA or Canada, has a degree from these countries and has good knowledge in his subject.
Tutor.com also has a certification program which is awarded after a probationary period of 30-90 days of teaching. One should be able to teach fairly well to students of 4th grade and upwards.
This is a one to one tutoring program and students are taught in a classroom session whenever they need help.
Tutor.com is a secure and creditable web site. It has been in business since 1998. If you are knowledgeable in any particular area, it is a great way to work from home.
