I am sure that many of us do had or have a clear perspective of what career or profession that we actually want to undertake since in our younger years. There are indeed some professions which specialized studies are required, which the tracks have to be decide at some point during academic studies. In the case for occupation like nursing, it is one career that allows you to start late. But not having a proper academic background that is relevant to nursing can put you in a disadvantage position in terms of monetary packaged as well as career progression as a whole.
Consequently, it is ideal if you are to choose what career you would like to embark on straight after college so that you can undertake relevant specialized diploma course to better equipped yourself with the necessary knowledge to give you that much needed head start.
However, before deciding on the line of nursing, one must really understand what this job entails as well as encompass to be absolutely sure. This is extremely important as you would not want to end up feeling regret, would you? Here is a checklists of attributes that one has to note in order to undertake such aspiration to be a nurse.
1. Extremely patient and caring
2. Strong interest in providing care
3. Strong in communication
4. Able to assure and the ability to counsel
5. Able to withstand the sight of blood as well as human waste
6. Able to work in rotational shift systems including night shifts
7. Long and extended working hours
8. Possess strong emotional resilience
9. Not too concern on pay package
From the above checklist, one might actually changed their mind after reading it if their interest and aspiration to become a nurse is relatively low and tentative in nature. It truly takes more than just mere interests from an individual to pursue such a commendable profession.
