Do you wanna be trapped?
What is the trap? Webster defines a trap as: something by which one is caught or stopped or a position or situation from which it seems difficult to escape. In this article I touch briefly on what we know as the "TRAP". Our place of grind, money making, and heavy hustling, drug selling and more. Do you wanna be trapped?
Statistics show that crime, drugs and violence is one of factor poisoning the youth and incarcerating the lives and minds of our people. Especially the "BLACK" ones.The trap, as most of us know it is our hustle, the aggressiveness to get our money, some illegal side hustles, the place some of us make our money (trap house), the hood, the block and even clubs. Trappin' might as well be a noun because it can be a person, place, or thing.
Do you wanna be trapped?
We relate to this "trap" in our conversations, slang words, conversations, music, and displayed in our daily lives. Many versions of this term is also used. "The Trap, "Trap House" "Trapping", Trapped Out", "In the trap" and "trap star". Trapping stems from the "dope game". Hustling whatever it takes to make a quick dollar. It's so hard to get into these type of things but so hard to get out of (the trap). And once in the "Just-Us Center" also known as Justice Center, we get out and hustle that much harder only to be "trapped" again. I'm not hating on nobody hustle or how they make their money. But maybe we ought to give this "trappers mentality" some re-evaluation. I almost was trapped before, almost lost everything I'm working towards for some chump- change.

Even in the media, from TI and Young Jezzy just to name a few, rap, brag and boost about what we know and call "the trap". And we absorb and exert this mind state in our daily lives. As black people, I don't think we know how much our words, rap songs, and daily conversations actually play out in our lives. TI and Young Jezzy.........have both been physically affected by the trap they boost about. TI's personal assistant, 26-year-old Philant Johnson, was shot to death while riding in a car with the group after they left a Cincinnati nightclub in early May stemming from a club fight.
