When you are married, you marry under God. By the time you decide to get married, you should know the person well enough to know whether you will be happy with them for the rest of your life or not. This is why it is such a bad idea to get married after a short time of dating. Long engagements and dating for long periods of time are recommended.
Adultery is an inexcusable thing. Marriage is a sacred covenant and should be treated as so. There are also warning signs if your marriage is falling apart. Usually with an affair, it starts emotionally. If you are having an emotional affair, you should talk to your partner and be honest about the feelings you are having before it becomes physical. Seek marriage counseling and be completely truthful with your counselor.
If an affair has occured, it will be considered an abolishment by God. You did not take your marriage seriously. You have shown a lack of self-control, a loss of respect for your spouse, and a poor sense of judgement. I believe God still loves us no matter what, but forgiveness will not occur for this sin.
