Does society favor men? Although many people like to think that society does not, they are sadly mistaken because in fact men are quite favored. I will give it to society that things have vastly changed of the years but yes, men are still considerably favored in the American society and in many other societies also.

Men are favored in society in many ways from employment to lifestyle being that these go hand in hand. In many areas of employment men are paid more then women, and they have an easier time at moving up the cooperate ladder. Men are usually taken more seriously to where as woman are thought to be cute but not really an asset unless they are answering a phone or getting coffee. Think about it when you walk into an office who do you see sitting at the entrance desk doing secretarial work? 98% of the time it will be a woman. Why? Because it is a female job. Not to mention that the person who is in a higher position in the company will more than likely be a man. Also because of higher paying jobs men also live a better lifestyle. Many men are more financially stable than their counter partner, a woman.

I will say that I am thankful though to be a woman in the United States as opposed to being an a woman in Africa or another foreign country that views their woman as nothing but a baby factory who cooks and cleans for them. At least here I do have a chance to be something more than the traditional woman in another country will be. I am still responsible, like millions of other women, for the majority of the cooking, cleaning and child rearing but I still have the opportunity to be more than just someone's maid and nanny.

Being that all this is true a woman really need to ask herself a few questions. Do you really want to be completely equal? If you were thought of as an equal you would more likely be sent off to war, have to open your own door when entering a building or getting out of the car and have a more demanding job that took you away from your children even more than you already are. Would this all be worth it just for the fact that in some man's mind you are considered equal? Personally being thought of as equal for me is not worth the sacrifices I would have to make. I am equal in my home with my husband and that is plenty for me.

Although women have come a very long way and still continue to advance to try to obtain the same level in society men are still favored. Whether we like to hear it or not it is sadly a fact. It has always been thought of as a man's world and this has not changed
