Personal preference has a lot to do with what diaper you choose. It may be one brand for one child, and a different brand for another. From my personal experiences though, I can at least make some recommendations. Pampers Swaddlers are great for newborns. Pampers Cruisers are also a really great diaper... very stretchy and easy to fit many different size children. Having said that, Cruisers are the most expensive diapers out there. Even though I really liked them, when diapering my twins, I opted for the less expensive Pampers diaper, the Baby Dry. (Swaddlers only go up to size 2.. after that you have to choose between Cruisers and BabyDry) Baby Drys have improved recently.... if your babies aren't really fat, they should work really well. I've found that the fatter babies need the stretchiness of the Cruisers.
Huggies also has two different lines of diapers... the Ultrafit, and the Supreme. I like the Supreme... though they cost as much as the Pampers Cruisers. If choosing between the two less expensive lines, Ultra fit or Baby Dry, I would definitely recommend the Pampers BabyDry. I always felt like the Huggies, once used, did nothing to hide the smell of pee. My son would pee one time and instantly smell like a dirty bathroom. Not that I would leave my baby in stinky diapers anyway, but any busy Mom can tell you that sometimes that diaper just doesn't get changed right away! (especially after it's only been peed in once!)
When baby gets older and is sleeping all night, Huggies does make a great overnight diaper, called Huggies OverNites, that works really well and doesn't leak near as much as regular diapers.
For training pants, I have always preferred Pampers Pull Ups. For much older children struggling with bed-wetting, their is no better product than GoodNites, an underwear-like pant specifically designed for older children (from about age 4 up). GoodNites are made by Huggies.
As for wipes, it is complete preference. Pampers wipes are bigger and softer, but Huggies wipes are a little thicker and more textured, thus better at "grabbing" off the mess. I like Pampers Sensitive Skin wipes... no scent and soft on babies skin.
