Pay per click, Adwords and Adsense seem to be everywhere. Being an on-line publisher and advertiser I naturally use both but I keep on being bombarded with information telling me how I could make so much more money than the $20.00 per day I make now by juggling the Adsense and Adwords combination.
Before I go into that let me tell you why I use Google Adwords to advertise my business:
Google AdWords delivers instant results - you can have your ad campaign up
and running in 10 minutes flat. Compared to this Yahoo can take anywhere from 2 to 5
days while they manually review ads.
With Google AdWords, it doesn't matter where your potential customers are as you can also target your prospects geographically down to countries, states and cities. Imagine what an advantage this is whether your business sells hard goods or
services. It's true that most buyers would prefer to think they are dealing with local suppliers as opposed to someone half way across the world.
My favorite quality about AdWords is that - it rewards good ad performance -
that is, for an ad that converts (clicks/impressions percentage) exceptionally well (high click-through-rate (CTR), your ad will get better advert placement as well as better pricing.
Google wants to display the most relevant ads for the user. So... it makes perfect sense that YOU will pay less per click, the higher the click-through rate of your ad is.
N.B. The click-through rate is simply the percentage of users that click on your adverts. For example, if 100 users saw your ad and 2 people clicked, your advert and visited your website, your click-through rate would be 2% i.e.(2/100).
I also like the fact that your competition cannot see the exact amount you're bidding for your keywords or the CTR your ads are getting, which gives it a distinct tactical advantage that Yahoo lacks by displaying the cost to advertiser.
This also means that my competition will NEVER be able to tell how I am marketing my product. So, they won't be able to copy off my marketing ideas and steal my prospects.
So the bottom line - bringing instant traffic to your websites and converting those prospects into satisfied customers is a much better option than waiting around for your search engine rankings to take off.
But what about how to resolve pay-per-click advertising issues to make more money?
The strategy is this: if your website content is rich and original with well targeted keywords, you will attract the higher paying Adsense adverts to your site which pay more to your Adsense account when an interested person clicks on them, than it costs you to advertise and get them there. So the difference is that you make more money!
There is a great free manual called 'Adwords Made Easy' which you can get if you visit my website at http://www.your-success-principle.com/adsense-adword s-website.html and find out more.
