Why white wall tires look better on some antique cars

Why do whitewall tires look better on some antique cars? The answer to the question generally lies in the minds of those who would say that the tires do or do not look better upon a specific model. However, the main reason cited by most people on why they choose to go with the whitewall on their classic automobile has to do with the accuracy of recreating the product as it was originally intended to be seen, and overall originality itself.

My father comes from an era where whitewall tires were considered a cool trend. Similar to clothing fashion vehicles and their accessories go through all sorts of makeovers, which some people find silly and others embrace. No matter what vehicle he is driving, dear old Dad makes sure his whitewalls are pointed outward. On his 78 Dodge pick up the whitewalls do little to steal away from the fact that it is a rusted through piece of junk. However, if her were to have the tired like that on a classic, rebuilt muscle car then the tires may not be the main reason the car looks good, but it adds to the effect.

How a tire is placed is a matter of taste and if one wants to go for a taste of authentic on some models then the whitewalls need to be out. However, if it is a matter of personal preference you would rather tune into then maybe you dislike the color scheme and leave the whitewalls in. Either way if you are lucky enough to have the classic car in the first place and it has tires: good for you.
