Best powerboats for waterskiing and wakeboarding

Speaking from experience, the bigger the wake, the more the fun! I learned to water ski at the young age 7 years old at my grandparent's house. The first boat I got up behind was just a small john boat with a fifteen horsepower engine, although this was very fun for me at the time, I needed a bigger boat! In this article I will describe what boats are good for skiing and wakeboarding behind and why they are.

The ideal boat for towing a water-skier or wake-boarder is a sixteen to twenty foot boat that has a four-stroke inboard engine. This type of boat is perfect for: making a wake that is easy to jump, popping up skiers and wake boarders alike with almost no trouble out of the water, and towing slalom skiers back and forth through a coarse. Some features to look for in a good ski boat include: racks to hold your wakeboards, a ski bar were you can tie your ski line (so that it is in the middle of the boat), and a canvas so you can keep you and your passengers out of the sun. The prices of these boats range from $20,000 all the way up to 75,000. I recommend starting out with a smaller boat before you decide to invest in a very expensive boat that you will not use often.

Some of my greatest memories come from times when I was out on the water, so I urge you to go out and try it! Good luck, and happy boating!
