Four Sixteen
Still can't decide if it was my place
or if I made a mistake.
I was left to make the choice alone
So now the blame is my own.
They all let me know
It had to be mine.
They all tried to show
it would all be fine.
The day I decided I had made
the choice that could not be changed,
I cried for you and for me.
I knew you would never be here with me.
I took all control.
It had to be mine.
And I tried to know
it would all be fine.
When the day came to face my fears,
it was suddenly so unclear.
Soon forgot how to be strong.
My clear choice seemed so wrong.
I took a deep breath
and knew it was mine.
Learned to pretend
it would all be fine.
Ignoring my heart, I walked through that door.
Knew nothing, felt little more.
Closed my eyes, not looking back.
Fate closed you right there in its trap.
Sigh of relief,
I did what was mine.
Sigh of regret,
It will never be fine.
