Looking to go on an adventure this summer? What kind of adventure are you wanting: fishing, hunting, boating or nature exploring? In the state of Iowa, there are places to enjoy any of these activties. Here are several stores willing to provide the equipment to have fun in style!
For fishing, buy top-of-the-line products from Walmart, Sam's Club(if you have a membership), Target, or Kmart. These superstores carry BassMaster fishing poles, tackle boxes, sinkers and lures. If not Bassmaster, you can purchase signature-brand equipment for a little cheaper price.
For hunting, Frontier Outfitters in Jordan Creek(West Des Moines)sells clothing, hats, shoes and other items geared to hunting a specific animal; ie duck calls for ducks, camouflaged jackets to blend in while hunting deer. You can also purchase weapons like compound bows or crossbows and knives of all sizes to skin. Walmart also sells weapons including firearms with ammunition for the avid hunters. In addition, Younkers(Merle Hay, Jordan Creek, and Southridge Malls) carry Eddie Bauer Outfitter products.
For boating, you can purchase boats and safety equipment(life jackets, flares and such) at Malone Motorsports in Monroe, Iowa. Monroe is twenty miles southeast on Hwy 163 from Des Moines. Boats 4 U has new and used boats for sale with brands of Yamaha, Mercury and Volvo.
For nature exploring, the stores I mentioned in the first, two paragraphs will suffice. Purchase a rugged pair of jeans, Cherokee hiking shoes and a backpack. Pick an undisclosed, wooded area and explore. For night adventures, be sure to take a flashlight and an air-horn to attract attention.
The stores listed can be found online. Good hunting.
