If you are a stat-head like me, have at least 2 or more fantasy baseball teams (I currently have 4, 1st place in two of those), then you love the game of baseball.
Baseball, probably more than any other sport, is stat heaven. I bet someone is keeping up with how many swings a batter takes during the season just so they can compare it to the next year. Although this is not an official Stat, it would be useful information. When I hear someone say the words, "Stats are for losers" I always say, "Winners always have the best Stats".
Here is a list of all 30 MLB teams and the most consistent hitters on their teams. I will use the OPS(On-base Percentage + Slugging Percentage) because, in my opinion, it is the best judge of great hitting. While some of these hitters are not the stars of their team, they all have been consistent and have carried their teams. For example, Barry Bonds has a monster 1.112 OPS but he only has 192 at-bats. Randy Winn has 299 at-bats, 107 more plate appearances than Bonds. In my opinion this makes Winn very valuable to the team because of his durability. Also, the teams are listed by standings in their respective divisions. For example, Boston leads the AL East.
