Recipes: Simple dishes for college students

just used these recipes today and they are very good.the first is barbecued hamburger its the simplest recipe for young college students.i got this out of a food and family book that you can get monthly for free.there are 2 recipes for one full meal or you can add different things as you please.

burger royale

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup kraft original barbecue sauce


1 medium red onion cut into 4 slices
1/4 cup kraft zesty Italian dressing
4 kraft singles
4 slices tomato
4 lettuce leaves
4 hamburger buns split and grilled



preheat grill to medium high heat.mix meat and barbecue sauce;shape into 4 patties.brush onion slices with 2 tablespoons of the dressing.

grill patties and onions five minutes on each side or until patties are cooked throughly(160 f) and onions are tender.brushing onions occasionally with the remaining dressing.top each patty with the singles;grill an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until the singles begin to melt.

place 1 lettuce leaf,1 tomato and burger on the bottom half of each bun.cover with onions and tops of buns.this serves 4 people. to keep the slice onions together use skewers or tooth picks.



grilled new potato packet.

1/2 bag of white and red potatoes
2 tbsp of water
2 tsp of oil
3 tbsp kraft sun dried tomato vinaigrette
2 tbsp kraft grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley



preheat grill to medium heat.place potatoes in center of an 8 inch long piece of heavy duty aluminum foil or use double.drizzle with water,oil.bring up foil sides double fold on top and ends to seal packet leaving room for heat circulation.

grill 18 to 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

cut slits in foil to release steam.open packet drizzle potatoes with dressing;sprinkle cheese and parsley.

makes 4 servings.




you can have a salad or vegetables on the side.these 2 recipes are perfect to impress friends or family.
