fresh water fishing as well as in a America in the UK is the biggest sport bigger than football i know it mite be hard to take in but it is. Because its so easy to do i used to work in a fishing shop and i saw all types of people fishing people from the age of 5 and people up to 90 anyone can do it. alot of people start match fishing because its easy you use smaller hooks and the line is thinner and the rod and reel you use are alot lighter. Then after 6 months or so most people start carp fishing now i no that in America they are classed a disease because there are to many of them but over here it is good to catch a carp over the weight of 20lb and alot of the big carp are down south in oxford and around that area. carp like warm weather because food grows more and the fish are always bigger in the warmer areas. i know a few people who fly fish i have tried it and it is OK but it does not suit me the way to fly fish is to use the 10 to 2 casting method where you hold the rod and 10 o'clock and then release it at 2 o'clock and this is easy but the hard part is the line because only 50% of the line is the special fly fishing line and the rest is shock leader. the shock leader normally tends to be heavy and even if you get floating line it is still heavy and when you cast you get a back draft when the fly line goes first and then all of a sudden the shock leader comes out of no were but once you get used to it you can cacth your own tea lol. Match fishing and carp fishing is the main one over 90% of the uk population does it and the t v programs help to make more people turn to fishing if you have not tried it please do you will be shocked at how much fun you will have.
