Chocolate is the ultimate indulgence, and warm chocolate chip cookies are the perfect comfort food. In the past, you'd have to make a choice between taste and health, but not anymore. This recipe will make delicious, soft, chocolate chip cookies that taste just like 'normal' but are much healthier due to a lower fat content. I'm a total chocoholic, and trust me, these are fabulous.
You will Need:
1/4 cup softened butter
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg white
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips (or 1/2 cup if you really love chocolate!)
To Make:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees farenheit.
2. In large bowl, beat butter and sugars together until creamy. Add egg white and vanilla, mix until blended.
3. In smaller bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Slowly add flour mixture to egg and sugar, and work the dough together. If you're making this with kids, it's especially fun to do with your bare hands! The dough will be crumbly at first.
4. Stir in chocolate chips.
5. Place a teaspoon's worth of dough on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes, until browned around the edges.
This reciepe will make 30 good-sized, delicious cookies. There's just 65 calories and 2.3 grams of fat per cookie.
Enjoy!
