Poetry: Falling in love

by Megan Dickey

Created on: June 30, 2007

It's a loud dark room
In a coffee shop
You're across the way
And you're staring into my soul
I can feel you
Before you're in my sight
And without notice
I'm spinning out of control
I looked up
You were looking at me
Baby just one smile
And it was all over
You tried to talk to me
You now admit that you stumbled
I didn't hear it, I tried to listen
But all I could hear were your big blue eyes

Oh you're blue eyes
I've loved them when I've hated you
Cuz you have this way
Of looking at me
And you see through to the real me
The hidden me

You bring the hidden me into the open
And I hate that when I love you
No, I don't want anyone to see into me
Not even you, not even a little bit
But it brings us closer
Because when you uncover me
you and I are like one, united, together

Oh You and I.
I've loved it and I've hated it.
And I've loved you and I've hated you
And sometimes when you do the things you do I want to leave
But I stay for your blue eyes, for my hidden self and for you and I
Because I was never together before that day in the coffee shop.
