The Flight Within
To my mother with reverence:
Her loving touch never has to touch at all to feel
It is her giving way that shows her love, her appeal
I tell her I love her in stories and rhymes
I would say this if it were another time:
I would reach into another dimension
to grasp something that we could share
Something to take the pain that ails you
something to be with you when I cannot be there
You would be hurt and hide your eyes in utter shame
Looking down because of the mistake I made
You would not understand why I looked to a strangeness for completion
It would be more than your hands could handle; a made to life vision
It's kind of like the specialness no butterfly would trade
Her wings to be able to sing....
