Your Classic Car Business
You have a passion for classic cars and you'd like to start a business. How to get started.
The best way to start in this business is to buy your first classic car. And the best way to do this is to shop around for a car that would be considered a classic car if it were refurbished. That way you can start out with as little money as possible.
There are a variety of good ways to find old cars that can be refurbished.
Put a small ad in the paper. It should read something like Looking for old Lincolns, Corvettes, and Chevies. If you look in your local paper, or a local buying and selling tabloid under cars you can frequently see ads run by people looking for old cars. These are probably other people like you who collect and refurbish classic cars.
Some people have a preference. Some like Corvettes. Others like Chevies. Some like Fords. Some collectors have a variety of different types of classic cars. You should start with your favorite. Or you might start with the best you can find that is maybe not your favorite, but is one you also like and that you could pick up cheap.
Another way to find old cars is the car junkyard. There is usually one in every small town, and more in bigger cities. Buy as cheap as you can.
Just perusing the different newspapers and tabloids in your area might find you the classic car you are looking for.
You might be looking for T-birds, Mustangs, or Jaguars. Whatever you are looking for, keep looking till you find it. You will eventually find the classic car of your dreams.
Once you have found that classic car, you can start refurbishing it. It should sparkle from top to bottom, have a good running engine, no dents, no scratches, with an excellent paint job. If it needs new parts you can find those in a car junkyard or by advertising the same way you advertised for the car, or by perusing the newspapers under the automobiles section. Every effort should be made to find the authentic parts and accessories. Upholstery should be as authentic as possible.
So as not to challenge the authenticity of your classic vehicle, you should do some research in old magazines and newspapers about the classic car of your choice.
Once you have completely refurbished your classic car you can advertise it for sale in the newspaper and at the same time look for another classic car.
When selling your classic car, you should keep a good record of what you originally paid for it, how much you paid for all parts and services you rendered to
