Racial inequality or oppression: Do they truly exist in today's society?

To some extent racial tension exists in all societies. It has come to be my belief that it isn't the color but the attitude and mannerisms that create the oppression and inequality. 'White Trash' and 'Niger's' are the same people, they have adopted mannerisms that are offensive, refuse to listen to anyone on any subject. They covet whatever anybody has and hates the person who has it. Both groups of people fit in the same hole. That is not racist nor is it opression it a group of selfish people who do not want any part of change but would rather blame everyone else for their mistakes and accept no responsibility. Choices and consequences, black, white, brown or red we all face them.

Our government has a lot to do with racial tension because it is always forced into our face regardless of whether or not we know anything about the subject. The media cries racism before the article is printed or aired. We get news by the ear before we have a chance to evaluate what it is we are trying desperately to understand. Most people have enough intelligence, where drugs and alcohol are not involved, to settle disputes on their own but when the media and the government become involved and do our thinking for us then subconsciously we are led in whatever direction those people have decided. Ask a racial person when was the last time you were tormented because of your color. It happens less than we think but we hear about it more than we know. As Americans we must make up our own minds and not be pressed into believing what someone else has said.
