the people who were at the mall, and running his license through the computer system in his car.
The cops ended up finding a half of a blunt, and an empty twenty-sack in my car and asked me about it. I was honest, and told them that I completely forgot it was in there, and it was from three days prior when I smoked the first half. Then they approached my friend and were very rude with him asking about it, making accusations of it being his (he didn't have a clue about it). After that was done, they took the "evidence" and hid it, and I was off the hook... J wasn't. I was having a conversation with the police officers around me, while the other detective was still riding J pretty hard. The detective even told J that he shouldn't look at this as any type of "racial b*llshit". J's response:
"Excuse me officer, but I'm lookin' at my white friend havin' a good time with your white cops, and you're sittin' here in my face givin' me a hard time."
The detectives response was "I'm not in your face", then he proceeded to get within one inch of my friends face and said "Now I'm in your face motha' f*cka'."
After about ten more minutes of this kind of 'discrimination' as I call it, a call came in and the voice on the radio said that J was clean. No warrants, no arrests, clean driving record, the whole nine yards. The ordeal was over.
I always knew that racial profiling and racial oppression was indeed an issue here in the United States, but this was my first time witnessing it first hand. While the cops were sitting back with me, having a good time, talking sports, women, parties, and what-not, my friend was having his neck breathed down, and was put in a very uncomfortable place for no apparent reason.
So yes... It is a fact, and I have the evidence to support the fact, that racial inequality and oppression truly DO exist in todays society.
