Whats the use in getting high?

well a lot of people who are addicted will say it keeps them sane, I know I know silly isn't it? but to them there addiction is what keeps them going.
I know because i have tried and am also helping someone to get back to reality.
I was a drug taker but i was lucky, very lucky to have gotten out of it when i did. I suffer from anxiety and social phobia so when i had tried this so called high drug i couldn't believe it! i wasn't afraid to walk down the street or say what i felt it was wonderful! but then came the "coming down" stage and it was terrible, but i liked not being afraid no more so i took more and more and more until i realized that i could afford to live or cope with reality.

I look back now and shudder how did i do it? how could have i! Then i realized that these drugs are like band-aids on a sore they can only cover the sore not fix it and coming back to reality and dealing with myself was the only way, So what is the use of getting high? Absolutely nothing! they destroy and conquer everything in there path and leave nothing but sadness
