transport of freight. The first corridor, originating in Texas, encompasses I 35, I 29, and I 94 and literally cuts the country in half. NASCO has already received $2.25 million in Congressional funding that is administered by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). In June 2002, the Texas Transportation Commission approved this Trans Texas Corridor Plan, and the Texas Governor has overridden all referendums that would stop the plan.

The second NATA Corridor is being planned for I 69. This corridor will separate the Gulf Coast from Texas and cut diagonally through Arkansas. It will run through western points of Tennessee and Kentucky before dividing Indiana and cleaving a portion of Southeastern Michigan. Other corridors are being planned through other states.

Unlike traditional turnpikes and interstates, these corridors will not bring traffic into a community for economic development or increased property values. It is purposely designed to take traffic away from existing highways and keep motorists on the Super Corridor and away from surrounding communities. In fact, they will separate members of a community and families by blocking many county highways and rural roads, making large tracts of land inaccessible. Bridges or ramps could be built to connect local roads to the Super Corridors, but the ramps will have to span over a mile and would have to be funded by the local communities. Most local communities don't have that much money. And this is just one of the many downsides of these corridors.

NASCO also created the North American Inland Port Network (NAIPN) to build three inland ports in Mexico: Manzanillo, Colima and Lazar Crdenas, Michoacn. These are the only ports connected to the Super Corridor. No American ports are connected because the goal is to bring goods from China into North America through Mexico and by-pass American Ports and the more costly American labor.

Now for the absolute scariest point. These Super Corridors are to be built, operated and secured by foreign entities. Cargo brought into America will not be inspected until it reaches Kansas City. A foreign country will be providing cargo security in the heartland of America. Doesn't this shake you to your innermost being? How can a President of the United States do this to his country?

At this point, our Texas brother and sisters have been virtually standing the ground alone. Isn't it time the rest of us Americans join them in this fight to keep our sovereignty and our security?
