The problem is simple; parents feed their children junk food way too much these days because they feel like it is quicker to stop at a McDonald's that it is to make them a healthy sandwich. That may be true, but look at what you're doing to your kids. Every once in a while is fine, but when you go every other day you make your child think that it's okay. The fact that parents don't let their kids exercise enough does it too. So your kid doesn't want to take a nap, take them outside to play instead. Not only will it tire them out for bedtime later, but it gives them exercise to work off all that bad crap you let them eat earlier in the day. On the other hand, some kids truly have weight problems and parents and/or doctors don't catch it until later. My little cousin who is now nine years old has always been overweight for her age. She was always outside playing and getting exercise and didn't eat too much junk food so nobody ever knew why. It had been suggested many times by myself and other family members and friends that she may have a thyroid disorder. My aunt took her to many doctors who continually told her that she was fine and just needed to lose some weight. Finally a few months ago a doctor told her that she did in fact have a thyroid disorder which was making it difficult for her to lose weight. She is still in the process of getting medication to help her. Whatever the reasons may be for obesity in children, most of it can be prevented or at least controlled to a certain extent, with exercise and a healthy diet.
