In every sport, there is a man who catches the hearts of fans and critics alike. In the WWE, that man was Eddie Guerrero. Eddie Guerrero had catapulted to main event status, when he defeated Brock Lesner for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at No Way Out 2004. Since then, Eddie Guerrero had competed in many great championship matches. His unique personality and entrance to the ring made him such a love of the fans. Bringing a lowrider to the ring was his special way of paying his loyal fans back.

In early 2005, Eddie had the luxury of becoming tag team champions with one of his best friends- Rey Mysterio. Their tag team reign lasted for at least 2 or 3 months. During this time, tension began to show between the two friends simply because Eddie began to realize that he couldn't beat Rey. The result? An intense fued between the two men that would last at least 6 months. It would also prove to be one of Eddie's last great fueds. During all this time Eddie got so frustrated with not beating Rey, that he got Rey's son involved. One of the greatest ladder matches in history was the result. It happened at Summerslam 2005. The end of their intense fued was marked when Eddie finally beat Rey in a steel cage. The next step for Eddie was a championship match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The time and place was No Mercy 2005 against Batista. Going into the match, Eddie used a lot of mind games with the champ. Their one on one match at No Mercy proved to be a classic. Eddie was clearly the smaller man, but that did not stop Eddie from dominating most of the match. It was a great one on one match, that clearly showed Eddie was one of the greatest superstars ever to lace up a pair of boots. His final match was aired on November 11, 2005 against the newcomer, Mr. Kennedy. With his sneaky ways, He defeated Mr. Kennedy and earned himself a slot at that year's survivor series.
Sadly, two day's later, Eddie Guerrero was found dead inside his hotel room. The apparent victim of heart failure as a result of years of mistreating his body with steroids, and past bouts with alcohol. In my mind this man was the greatest and we should remember him for his accomplishments. He was the very first Mexican wrestler to win a World Heavyweight Championship. He was a former U.S. Champion, Tag Team Champion, and he was one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the business. A recent Hall of Famer, no doubt he will truly be missed. Rest in Peace.
