To the above topic, my answer would be 'Yes'. Although there are many other factors such as loss of jobs, breakdown in family relationships, loss of loved ones, etc, that may also lead to depression, but without a doubt, money is one of the most common denominators in causing depression in a person.
In this modern society, without money essentially equates to living from hand to mouth.
Matters are made worse when you have a family to support and debts are simply piling up. WIth the immense pressure coming in from all aspects, it is indeed quite unavoidable that depression may set in at some juncture. Of course, depression can be vary from the mild to the very serious type. Therefore, it all depends on the individual's personality and attitude in handling with adverse situations involving money.
In mild cases, the person will be able to cope and recover from depression through medication and counselling sessions. In worst cases, it can lead to death.
As the saying goes, "money is the root of all evil" and as mentioned earlier, money is indeed something that we cannot live without in our daily lives. Day in day out, people are thinking of how to get earn more money, irregardless of their financial status.
To conclude, money has already become one of the basic needs that we need to fulfil and the insecurity brought about by the inadequacy of money will invariably lead to depression
