Scrapbooks of all sizes are a joy to create. The advantages of making a mini-scrapbook are that they are very quick, easy, inexpensive, and you can give them away without the concerns about putting a lot of time, effort and money into it.

Children especially love to receive mini-scrapbooks and you can make them on their favorite subject, typically themself! Birthday parties are ideal for the topic.

You can find premade mini-kits in the craft section of most discount chain stores. Generally retailing for around $1.00, all you need to add are a few photos, stickers and some journaling.

Making a mini-scrapbook from scratch is not difficult either. Using scrapbook paper cut into the shape you desire, fastened with ribbon, yarn, or decorative fasteners, you can make the book as thin or thick as you wish. Covering stiffer paper or cardboard, even a piece of a file folder cut to size for the front and back, your book can be as plain or decorative as you wish.

Your book can be made to fit any occasion. Using family photos make it an ideal project for an album mom can put on her desk at work or carry in her purse.

Make several for holidays, showcasing the holidays of previous years, and let everyone compare the changes in clothing, size, hair styles, etc. of their friends and family.
