I don't agree with censorship or trade barriers, but Internet censorship is in no way "the same as" international trade barriers. It has obvious similarities, as well as obvious differences.

The Internet is a global marketplace, whereas international trade not involving the Internet tends to take place in a one-on-one country-to-country format. It's quite difficult to buy something without knowing where exactly it's coming from in the international marketplace, and it's similarly difficult to maintain quality assurance concerns on the Internet.

The two phenomena have similar economical effects, but should be treated and considered separately, as each issue has its own set of problems.

Let's not forget that Google is a corporation with its own interests. This sounds like something they would say to spark a debate and to gain sympathy for their multi-billion dollar company.
