Inaccuracy does not mean efficiency.
Slow zombies are, you could say, scientifically proven to be more realistic without the science, itself.
Zombies are rotting human beings. They are not going to be able to run fast, nor have the cognitive capacity to make themselves exert such force. They simply need to feed, and since their brain is so basic, they only wallow around until stumbling on something to devour.
Fast zombies, as shown in "28 Days/Weeks Later" are different from the traditional zombie. These "zombies" are infected with the rage virus, meaning they obviously should be able to move much quicker than the simple "resurrected" zombie.
If the viewer is looking for more action, sure, a fast zombie may take the cake. But if they are looking for the classic, George Romero-style zombies, stick to the slow, but deadly, zombie.
