Clearly the best apple is the Braeburn.

It somehow encompasses everything an apple should be.

Deep red with beautiful golden streaks.
Firm. A decent size. A ripe apple will smell divine.

So crisp that the first bite almost deafens you.
So juicy... SO juicy.. I can't get over this point. These apples are amazing. It's firm and then liquidises in your mouth when you bite down.
And the taste... unbelievable.
The perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. Sweet enough to satisfy your sugar craving, yet a tang so piercing it sends a zing down your back and leaves your tastebuds begging for more. The taste is dizzyingly intense yet put together seamlessly with more skill than Japanese sushi chef.

Suitable for making tarts etc but I prefer these babies unadulterated.
And a surprisingly consistent quality.

Yeah ok Golden delicious is alright, and a Granny smith will curb your need for acid but I have found that with MOST apple varieties there is always a risk( which you can never resolve until you bite) that it will be a fluffy, nay I will say it MUSHY apple.

The kind that you get bored with halfway through and leaves you just wanting to burp.
