Poetry: Imaginary love

Bag of Rocks

Sirens scream as bottles weep for just one more
Pictures black and white
Couldn't we be close for just one night?
Just one more?
Wishing on that same old falling star
That I would be okay to drive out to your house to know if I should stay or not
But life seems so confused, don't everything just seem so
So confused
And we are stuck in this great spider-web of love and lies
All rolled up in this tumble of guilt and cries
Wonder how it was with you and her, this girl
Yeah, who was she?
How was it, great like love can be, close like touch can be
Real like we could have been?
And you're losing me like rocks in a bag, one by one, you've never had
One so shiny, so pretty, so sweet
One who never gets thrown at you
One who never gets torn by you
And we're both lies and don't we know it?
Won't we be better off for it?
Don't it hurt for you like it does for me, like it was meant to be
But life, it's chemistry didn't work and it has never worked for me
Tell me you look at my pictures and never long for me
I know you do.
Don't you lie to me.
