Review A Wrestler: Abdullah The Butcher

As a personal favorite of mine, Abdullah The Butcher is one of the oldest Wrestlers in the world today, at age 70, he is still going as strong as he was fifty years ago, and is still spilling as much of his opponents blood, and his own, as he was back when he debuted. Known as The Madman From Sudan' due to his generally crazy in-ring ways. He is easily recognizable due to the long, deep and sickening grooves in his head which are capable of holding gambling chips and ordinary coins. The grooves are from countless gruesome and epic battles with the likes of Terry Funk, Mick Foley and Carlos Colon.

He is a favorite among the thrill seeker wrestling fans, who watch wrestling specifically for the blood, the gore and the bumps. His willingness to do almost any wrestling match up are what made fellow wrestlers, fans and promoters alike name him the title of Legend' and 50 years down the line, he is still doing what he loves to do.

His signature weapon is a fork, which he ALWAYS brings into play in his matches, every time you see the fork; you KNOW there is going to be some blood shed soon after.

Out of the ring however, Abdullah The Butcher is a gentleman and a family man, which I personally found hard to believe that someone with such an evil look and a gruesome way of wrestling, could NEVER be a gentleman and a nice, ordinary family man outside of the ring. As soon as he leaves the ring, he becomes Larry Shreeve, his real name, his real personality. He does what he does in the ring to give the fans what they paid for, to give them what they want to see day in and day out, and has vowed to do so until his dying day. This is what makes him a legend in our fair sport. Someone who is willing to give heart and soul no matter what the expense purely for the fans.

Abdullah The Butcher is also known as the only person labeled a Legend' to never work for the big company, World Wrestling Entertainment. He has never expressed interest working there either. He has been involved with World Championship Wrestling, and even got put in the electric chair during his time in the company in the Halloween Havoc Chamber Of Horrors Match, when his partner and friend Mick Foley, accidentally pushed the switch on Abdullah giving him a nasty shock, much to the delight of the crowd. Most actually viewed this as the Main Event of the show, and the show stealer, despite it being only the opening match.

Several Wrestlers along the years have acknowledged and
