I'll admit, I'm all for balance. I don't want the media to choose a side for me. I made the choice back when i was little to be a democrat. I have no trouble with a conservative point of view on the radio. The only problem with government control is that it would make radio less balanced. Looking at today's president and past presidents, there is no possible way they would allow the other point of view on the radio if given the power. Democrat or Republican, you just wouldn't be able to trust them.
I also believe that radio stations and talk shows are just like any other businesses. They have as much right to balance the radio as they do to tell restaurants what kind of food to serve. The radio stations choose what to put out and you decide whether or not to listen. If the stations are balanced, then you'll have more listeners from both parties. This will create more revenue by driving up ad prices. So the free market should naturally balance out the air waves.
The government has no right to balance the radio stations. It's free enterprise capitalism, and that's the way it's gonna stay.
