PRAYER FOR MY BABIES

I've cried an ocean worth of tears
A cold despairing sea
But I'll cry an ocean more for you
If it will bring you back to me

I've walked million miles to you
As I lay in my dreams
But I'd walk through hell if it led to you
And carry you home with me

I'd lay my body down to die
I'd will my heart to stop
I'd spill my blood to rescue yours
I'd give you every drop

I'd send my final aching breath
To lift you to the sky
I'd give my bones to give you strength
My eyes to give you sight

And yet I'm kept apart from you
A wound I cannot heal
With promises of progress
And vows that don't seem real

But I'm still here and holding on
To every part of you
You're with me in my heart, my head
And everything I do

I'll count each breath my body takes
Each second, every day
And every beat that fills my heart
Til you come home to stay
