Helium is all about writing, and about earning money from that writing. The following tips are designed to maximise the amount of revenue you can earn from Helium and therefore allow you more time to write even better articles!

WRITE WELL.
Make sure your articles are interesting and something others will want to read (and maybe even refer on). If you are writing poorly or on subjects no one is interested in then you are not going to get much of an audience, and that means no money!

MINE A SEAM.
Make a note of articles that make you the most money. Some subjects are more popular, so make sure you have something to say about them.

CROSS REFERENCE.
By this I mean if you have a blog make sure you have a link to your Helium page. You can also add your articles to Digg It' and Face Book etc. This way you are maximizing the amount of people who will visit your articles and add to your revenue.

KEEP ON WRITING.
Write a little but often. Just a few articles a week will soon add up to an impressive body of work and will help you to maximise your earnings. Also, the more you write the better you will become, and by honing your talent you will write better articles (see tip 1).

KEEP ON RATING.
Make sure you spend time each day reading and rating the work of others. The more you rate the more chance you have of others reading your work. I normally try to rate 3 or 4 articles for every one that I submit. The payoff from rating others work is that you see the good writers and the bad, and can learn from both. Also, Helium currently rewards you according to your 'contribution' to Helium, and rating is an essential part of that process.

SUBJECT MATTERS.
The subject you choose to write about can have a dramatic effect on your earnings. By choosing subjects that are popular and relate to popular products, revenue can be increased. The classic earners are areas such as: Business, technology and Fashion. Keep an eye on your earnings page and see what subjects are the best earners and work on articles about those topics.

FORMAT MATTERS.
Try not to use numbers when writing out your articles. Subject headings tend to get better ratings and look more professional. Writing in short paragraphs will also tend to get better ratings and appeals to the way users read Helium articles.

COMPETITIONS AND MARKETPLACE.
Helium has a lot of different competitions that can be entered and money won. Don't miss out, you can earn good money with one off wins. Marketplace offers you the chance to write articles for publishers under a huge array of topics. make sure you continually check the community pages for new contests and writing opportunities.

BE PASSIONATE.
About what you write and Helium. That way you'll write about what you love and know and write all the better for it. Passion adds humanity to your articles and allows people to connect to your writing.

Maybe the most important tip I can offer is to HAVE FUN! Almost no one mentions this, but if you are enjoying yourself, then others will, and you'll reap the benefits.

Helium is a marvellous place to write and earn a bit of money too. So by making sure you stick to a few best practice suggestions, that writing income can be maximised.
