I think he has made a wise choice. I would have liked to see him stay in the premiership, just to watch him play as the man is a genius, but this is his chance to show the Spaniards just how good he is. He might even get world player of the year if he has a good season, why he has be overlooked in the past is a mystery and it feels wrong that once he's cracked spain he will definitely get it. His overall premiership performances should have earned him this hounour already.

On a personal level he now has the chance to achieve something which he could not have by staying at Arsenal. Thiery can improve as a player, surrounded by the likes of Ronaldinio, Deco and Eto i believe we will see some truly great football. Yes, to watch Arsenal was like watching football at its peak, on a par with the great Brazil sides but at Barca i think he could be the missing piece of the jigsaw as his overall contribution to their team in terms of assists and goals will keep me watching Spanish football next season.

Whilst at Arsenal he was someone for the whole team, club and fans to look up to and admire, the captain with the weight of the club firmly on his shoulders. He was, and still is Arsenal in his heart but at Barca he is not top dog and has to earn the respect of players and the fans, yes they know what he can do, what he is all about, but they haven't seen it week in week out with their own eyes. Watch this space... it will be worth it.
