REFLECTIONS OF A CHILD:
Reflections of my eyes
are looking back at mine
considering the memories
I thought were left behind.
Attempting to remember
happy moments that avail.
Though visions of regret
return to me unveiled.
A parent's love perfected
must from their errors bloom.
Intentions, not considered
by memories, are consumed.
Your position now has shifted
A mother you've become.
New memories are created
with a child that is your own.
Mirrored in your eyes I see
pondering of concern.
Lost memories unwelcome
now lessons you must learn.
If any wisdom taken
from the days of nurtured past
I hope for your discovery
that childhood memories last.
