Wish You Were Here

Your shirts hanging in the closet.
Your note's taped up on the mirror.
Every word you ever said to me
Still lingers in my ear.

You took all my trust and all my love,
All in just one day.
And now i'm asking why'd you do it
Just to throw it all away?

This was not what I wanted,
I love you like you'll never know.
I wish that things were different now,
I just wish that you didn't go.

But You're gone gone gone,
Wish as I may,
Nothing can make you love me
And nothing can make you stay.

So i'll try try try,
Hard as it gets everyday,
to forget you and forget us
And to forget, forget the way...

This was not what I wanted,
I love you like you'll never know.
I wish that things were different now,
I just wish you didn't go.

Every little reminder wouldn't matter,
If I were just that strong.
I'd be able to look at memories,
and still just move along.

But I must admit defeat,
can't seem to forget what we had.
And every time I think of us
I just end up missing you so bad.

This was not what I wanted,
I love you like you'll never know.
I wish that things were different now,
I just wish you didn't go.

I really try so hard to avoid
Any and all thoughts of you.
But I realize that there's just
So much of you in everything I do.

How can I forget you when
So much of me is you?
Without you here, where am I?
And what am I supposed to do?

This was not what I wanted,
I love you like you'll never know.
I wish that things were different now,
I just wish you didn't go.
