The answer is a Pretentious YES. I went to Columbia College in Chicago, paid over 8 thousand per semester but I was taught in classrooms of no more than 8 people, sometimes 5 during the middle of the semester. Published writers, such as D. Chocolate taught "How to Write for Pre-teens"
Irvine Welsh taught, "Advanced Writing" and he wrote Trainspotting & Porno.
I can name-drop and make myself feel better for paying a ridiculous amount of money for a private college, but I truly believe that I learned more from people teaching about subjects they were currently involved in. Say, a reknown scientist teaching chemistry. A accomplished world-traveled artist teaching "Waterpaint 101"
Personally, its a good choice to those who can afford it. Education, regardless is what you make of it, and my particular college was more infamous for its DROPOUTS rather than its graduates; IE rappers, Common, Kanye West versus Andy Dick & Andy Ricter
