Your honeymoon is undoubtedly one of the most special occasions in your life. You have finally found the man or woman of your dreams and you want to make sure that this happy event stays with you in the years to come. Since the occasion is so special your desire is to enjoy every instant to the full and what better way to have a memorable time but by visiting an exotic destination?

It has been suggested by another writer that a Caribbean island may be ideal and I agree. The island of Roatan, Bay Islands is just the place to enjoy an "off the beaten path" honeymoon adventure. After all what better way to relax and soak up the Caribbean sun than by visiting an island itself! In case you are not familiar with the location I invite you to get an Atlas and search for the Central American countries such as Guatemala, Nicaragua, San Salvador, etc and find Honduras. Look towards the North coast and you will find 3 small islands called The Bay Islands of Honduras. (They are not visible on all maps since they are rather small) The largest of the three bay islands between Utila and Guanaja is called Roatan.

The island offers a quiet laid back existence with turquoise waters teaming with marine life being one of its main attractions along with white sandy shores in the west end area. There are quite a number of hotels, resorts, villas and cabins available and some that particularly cater to newly weds for a truly unique experience. Imagine spending your days swimming in the clear blue warm waters of the Atlantic or soaking up the golden sun for a perfect all over tan or simply sitting out on the balcony of your hotel suite and watching the dazzling stars or the moon so bright it illuminates the waters like shimmering silver waves. Not to mention multiple dive sites surrounded by the second largest barrier reef in the world and an island cuisine that is sure to delight even the most exacting tastes.

Of course not everyone can travel and visit an exotic island in the Caribbean but if you can, I urge you to consider it. A special event deserves a special treat. Don't you agree?
