Yet again, Paris Hilton is set to profit from negative publicity. It seems that she is one of the few stars that builds up her fame on this type of publicity and is not bothered if it is only negative publicity that she is known for. Anything to earn a dollar. Even if she is a heiress, set to inherit a fortune. That along makes it difficult to fathom why she even attempts to earn so much from the media activities that she does.
Paris Hilton is a criminal, like any other criminal. Her crime may not be serious. But then again, it may be more serious than many other criminals serving jail time. Either way, she has broken the law and is being punished. By offering her further publicity with media interviews or tell-all books about her experience in prison, it is only turning her punishment into a reward. If Paris is rewarded for committing a crime, then so should other prisoners. However, no one else is interested in their stories, simply because they are not famous.
Also, how interesting could a 45 day stint in prison really be? Paris is certainly not even living the true prison life. She is in a private cell, separate from other inmates, with luxuries that others cannot afford. Sure, its a big difference to her everyday life of luxury and riches, but it is certainly nothing compared to a true jail sentence. So her story would not really be very interesting. There is not a lot to say about 45 days spent in a small room, doing not a lot, and not really even fitting in with a true prison sentence anyway. I cannot imagine how anyone would even want to read such a story or watch a current affair interview based on this latest big of negative Paris Hilton publicity.
The only highlight in hearing any of what Paris has to say after her time in prison would be out of amusement in knowing that she struggled. But realistically, Paris does not know what it is truly like to struggle. Her experience is nothing compared to that of other inmates and she should be thankful. Instead, she will give out a big sob story and compel people to feel sorry for her, all in the name of another quick dollar. But Paris broke the law. She is being punished. We should not be funding her story because it simply turns her punishment into a positive. If she receives profit after this experience, how is she ever expected to learn her lesson?
